Spinal Disc Decompression
Non Surgical Solution For Low Back Pain (VAX-D / DRX9000)
VAX-D / DRX9000 is the acronym for Vertebral Axial Decompression. VAX-D / DRX9000 is a non-invasive treatment for the management of patients with chronic back and leg pain from lumbar disc and facet joint pathology (disease). VAX-D / DRX9000 is an effective and safe procedure without any of the risks associated with surgery, injections, or anesthesia. Time off work or in recovery is minimal, and resolution of symptoms is long lasting. Medicine in the United States is widely regarded as the best in the world. Still, patient dissatisfaction with current treatments has rarely been more acute.
Patients are becoming more educated about their own conditions, and they are seeking out non-invasive treatments such as DRX9000. In the majority of patients, acute back pain symptoms resolve on their own in one to two months. Those that fail to resolve are then routinely referred to orthopedists or neurosurgeons.
For persons under age 45, low back problems are the most common cause of disability. Treating a patient with chronic low back pain can often be one of the most challenging situations for the physician. Back pain is frequently treated in an episodic manner, with a multitude of treatments such as drugs, heat and cold, bed-rest, chiropractic/ manipulation, physical therapy, exercises, acupuncture, TENS, epidural injections, prolotherapy, IDET (Intradiscal Electro thermal Therapy or heat cauterization with an Electro thermal catheter) and the various types of surgery.
Many of these are simply aimed at providing temporary reduction of symptoms without altering the underlying disease process or addressing the pathophysiology associated with lumbar discogenic disorders. Physicians are faced with the fact that there is no universally accepted algorithm for the care of such patients.
Often, the patient is led to surgery. Surgical decompression of intervertebral discs has been established for the management of disabling low back pain and sciatic pain. In many cases surgery may disrupt the natural biomechanical functions essential to preserve pain-free spinal mobility. Before resorting to a surgical approach it makes common sense to try a non-destructive, inherently safe procedure.
VAX-D / DRX9000 offers a safe, cost effective and conservative management program to manage acute and chronic low back problems. VAX-D / DRX9000 can relieve the pain associated with herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, posterior facet syndrome and radicular pain.
What happens When Treatment is Over?
When building a home, a solid foundation must be laid before the walls and roof are put up. When treating a chronic back or neck condition, developing a strong foundation is important as well. Non-surgical spinal decompression helps develop this foundation. Once this foundation has been laid, it is time to build up the supporting structures, often referred to as core strength and stability training.
While spinal decompression helps to relieve the symptoms associated with herniated or bulging discs, degenerative disc disease, and posterior facet syndrome, it does not help to strengthen the core muscles.
When you suffer a disc injury, the supporting muscles tighten, even to the point of spasm. Over time, muscle fatigue and weakness can develop as well as a significant decrease in flexibility. In order to help you avoid re-injury, these core muscles must be strengthened appropriately and improved flexibility must be achieved. In addition to strength and flexibility, improved stability must be developed.
Our staff will work with you to customize a program that will help improve your strength, stability, and flexibility. We will work with you hands-on, guiding you through specific exercises and developing an at-home program that will help you continue your progress in the weeks and months ahead.
Getting back to an active life is the goal of most patients. Establishing a solid foundation and building strong supporting structures will get you back on the golf course, out on the dance floor, or even just walking around the neighborhood again.
